We are Steve and Roxanne Provencher from New Ipswich, NH. We have been GWRRA NH-E members since 2007.
We have been married for 25 years and were blessed with two awesome boys (now men ages 22 & 24). Our eldest son Shawn is married with 2 ½ children (Amy is due in April with another grandson for us to spoil and send home). Our youngest son Chad is living and working in LA at a studio called “The House of Moves”. He is a computer graphics designer and animator. (If you have ever seen the movie “Ice Age” his work is behind the scenes making the characters move. We are immensely proud of both of them.
So given the fact that we are now “empty nesters”, we needed to recapture the person that we married, find common ground with our interests. (Which are polar different!)
Steve is a computer programmer and I am a retired nurse. Steve’s interests revolved around the technical arena. He had played lead guitar in several different bands when we first met. He has a passion for music – he studied at Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA majoring in Jazz Arranging & Composition. He transitioned from music to computer programming smoothly. He has found that some of the best programmers are or have been musicians. Who would have ever thought that the two would connect so perfectly? Go figure.
I retired from nursing after 20 years. I finally found my niche in Hospice nursing. After working for seven years at the Hospice House in Concord, NH I became unable to work for medical reasons. My hobbies and interests as I said are very different than Steve’s. I love crafting most anything! I knit, crochet, do paper crafting and so much more!
Steve had been talking about Gold Wings for several years. I told him that I would never get on a motorcycle…ever! (I was thrown from one when I was a kid) One morning we were out running errands; we had some time to kill before going to our respective appointments. Steve suggested going to check out the new Gold Wings. With a huge sigh I agreed. I sat on one in the show room and I was sold. We signed our lives away that very day and got our beautiful 2007 GL 1800 dark red metallic Gold Wing. With the help of Bruce and Rick from NH-E, we got our new baby home in February. We have enjoyed our new “baby” since we got it and ride whenever we can.
